Moon in Pisces...
In touch with the world on an emotional level,
the moon in Pisces is compassionate and empathetic.
As the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces has the most universal perspective. Although they are a water sign, operating on an emotional level, this universal outlook makes them less vulnerable and self-protective than Cancer and Scorpio. They are extremely sensitive to their environment, feeling their way through life, as a water sign does; but, they have a vague, overall sense of things. In fact, they sometimes forget where they stop and the outside world begins. Boundaries are blurred with the Pisces moon and they exist in a sort of fog that makes them both more and less connected with other people, circumstances and events. As the universal, water sign of the zodiac they have the detached nature of a universal sign and the sensitive, emotional outlook of a water sign.
The moon in Pisces person can read people very well. Without words, they can gauge a person's emotional state, and they can usually relate to it. Their mutable, emotional nature is receptive. Sometimes, however, this ability to take in and understand the world and everyone in it so easily can be overwhelming and confusing. Not everything in the world is good and the Pisces moon senses everything, good or bad. Negativity drains them and when they have been exposed to enough of it, they need time alone to recoup.
The Pisces moon fulfills its lunar needs by relating to the world in an emotional way. This is no easy task.
Many find fulfillment in art, which allows an emotional expression of universal ideas. Music, poetry, acting, or even the culinary arts give the Pisces moon an outlet for their universal, emotional energy. Connecting with nature is another example of an emotional connection with the world that feeds the Pisces moon.
Others use substances to connect with the greater world. Escape from the self and others into a more universal way of experiencing the world can be achieved by many Pisces moons with alcohol for example.
Even though Pisces moon people are emotional water signs, their universal nature allows them to enjoy a detachment. They have neither a personal or relationship point of view in that they don't seek satisfaction in self-development or through a relationship with another person. This removed point of view makes them difficult to offend. They are easy-going, kind people who have a great deal of patience with faults of their fellow humans. A mature acceptance of the short-comings of the human condition is found with this position. This can be taken so far that it sometimes seems they allow others to take advantage of them. Their compassion is deep and they give people a lot of deference, but they aren't weak and eventually their limit is always found.
The greatest challenge for the Pisces moon is to find the strength to deal with the practicalities of the real physical world on a daily basis. Not only is it downright boring for them, but they clearly see the futility of it all. We work, we accumulate possessions and pay bills, but the Pisces moon knows, on a feeling level, that this is all temporary and fleeting. Money and possessions will come and go. They prefer to spend as much time as possible lost in the abyss of their imagination or in a state they may describe as spiritual. For the Pisces moon, emotion is more real than anything tangible. So, there is a constant struggle for them to live in both worlds. They can't avoid the physical world, but they can't spend all of their time detached into their own world of daydreams and feelings either.
