Personal Houses...

The first four houses relate to developing our ego and our direct interaction with our immediate environment.

The first house of Aries has the most personal focus as its theme is the development of the ego itself. Once the ego is established, Taurus' house strives to establish values and possessions. In Gemini's house, learning and communication become central and in Cancer's house, family and the home become the focus.

1st House: House of Aries...

The image you project to the world physically or through any type of self expression is the core matter of the first house. The ego defines itself here by interacting with the world. It represents how you reach out and grab the world, the way you present yourself to the world and the way you interpret and react to the world. As the next house after the nebulous, unconscious, twelfth house of Pisces, to a large extent, the experiences here are also unconscious. For the most part, people act out the signs and planets of this house without realizing they are doing it. Planets and signs are felt in a powerful way here because there is a certain lack of self-control with their expression.

Values and possessions are represented in the second house. Building wealth and values for yourself and by yourself. Establishing a home with furnishings and a bank account will be central issues. Ideas about how your life should be run, what possessions you want and how you get them are found here. Whether you feel that it should be easy or difficult to get want you want is determined by what signs and planets are here as well as how aggressive or passive you are about obtaining the objects of your desire.

3rd House: House of Gemini...

Learning, information and communication are the focus of the third house. Taking in information and communicating your knowledge to the world are both matters of the third house, as are writing, reading and expression through speech. Your style of taking in knowledge then disseminating it are at play here. Your learning style and attitude toward early education are affected by planets and signs here, as is your interest in gathering knowledge and information throughout your life.

Family, home and personal security are the focus of the fourth house. The people in your family, as well as the physical home itself are found here. As this is the last self house, relationship themes begin to arise as it deals with family.
