Synastry Chart Overlays...
In a synastry chart overlay, one person’s natal birth chart is literally layered on top of another person’s with one person's chart going on the outside and the other’s on the inside. The resulting combined chart shows how the person on the outside affects the person on the inside. The charts are superimposed to line up the signs. Pisces goes on top of Pisces, Aries on top of Aries, etc. This is a great visual tool to see what each person gives to the other as far as signs, elements, and planets as well as which houses are affected.
Synastry chart overlays are a fascinating way to visualize how two people affect one another.
We Affect Each Other...
The primary force at work in synastry chart overlays is the influence of the outer person on the inner person. Although this is the primary force at work, the effect of one chart on another is not a one-way street. The outer person feels how they affect the inner person. There is a perpetual need for balance in every person. Every person is born with their own natal chart which never changes. The planets are in constant motion and the natal chart is constantly being triggered by these planets transiting their natal chart. People come into our lives and trigger and pull on aspects of our natal chart, but the chart is fixed. It is never going to change. As people come into our lives, we feel the effects they have on us and on our chart. The triggering of certain houses, and the influence of other people’s signs on our chart can either feel good, bad, or indifferent. It will feel good if these planets and signs help balance our natal chart by filling in gaps or weak spots. We can feel how another person can strengthen or weaken us by what they contribute to our chart.
