Relating to others is the focus of the relationship houses. 

Again beginning with fire, the fifth house of Leo has a definite slant toward the beginning of relationships, as romance and children are found here. With Virgo's house, a transition is made into the work and care involved with maintaining relationships. 5th House:  House of Leo...

Self expression is the theme of the fifth house. As the first of the relationship houses, the self expression is experienced through others. Creating and raising a child is found here, as the child is from you and is thus an expression of you. Romance is found here as you experience yourself through another person's wanting you and your wanting another person. Art is found here as it is a physical expression of yourself for others to enjoy. Defining who you are through your interactions with others and through what you create is the theme here.

6th House:  House of Virgo...

Caring for and serving others is represented by the six house, as is caring for yourself and your own physical health. Diet and exercise routines are represented here whether they are for yourself or others. It's about putting things in order for yourself and to serve others by understanding and assisting with health issues, paying bills, cleaning, caring for animals and completing general chores. 7th House:  House of Libra...

One-to-one relationships are the focus of the seventh house. The intellectual compromises which are part of partnerships and friendships are dealt with here, as is your ability to take another person's point of view and compromise on ideas. Your ability to attract, lure or sway another person is represented by the planets and signs in the seventh house. The amount of time and effort you put into one-to-one relations is found here, as is the amount of freedom or commitment you want in relationships. This is not the house of marriage or close intimate, relationships, that is the eighth house. Rather, this is the house of friendships, casual relationships, and business relationships.

8th House:  House of Scorpio...

The control and sharing of anything of value is the theme of the eighth house. This dynamic normally occurs between two people in an intimate relationship, but as the last relationship house, world themes begin to arise, such as, taxes which involves the sharing of money with society. It is a powerful house because it involves completely merging with another person emotionally, along with the give and take of things of great value. Whereas the second house focuses on building your own possessions and values, the eighth is about giving up your possessions and values to another person or how you may acquire these things from another person. Rather than the seventh house, this is the real house of marriage because marriage is about combining two people into one unit where possessions and values are given, taken and shared. Don't forget that this is a water/relationship house. Therefore, on an intimate level, this merging takes the physical and emotional form and is expressed in sex. This give and take runs the complete spectrum from complete loss to complete gain which, in one way or another, occurs through relationships.
