Not the easiest sign position for a moon, the moon in Scorpio seeks to satisfy their deepest needs through relationships with other people. Unfortunately, other people are often disappointing, leaving the Scorpio full of frustratingly intense, often unresolved, emotions that their secretive and self-protective nature isn't willing to work through by communicating. When they do try to express their feelings with words, they often strike out with harsh verbal lashings. So usually, they feel they must constantly find the strength to work through them on their own.
This requires time alone. But don't let this time alone let you believe that they are detached. The Scorpio moon is constantly calculating the odds and weighing the possible losses. This way of thinking rules their decisions, making them shrewd in business and careful in romance. Even though their feelings are intense and they long for intimacy, they don't rush into committed relationships.

They may have casual fun that poses no risk of loss, but real commitments require time to contemplate. When a commitment is made, they must be willing to share with their mate, and although they are willing to do this, they want to be sure that what they share is meaningful and won't go to waste. The idea of sharing what they have is intense for them; however, if they decide another person is worthy, they are willing to share and give fully and generously but never foolishly. If a Scorpio moon truly lets you into their world, it is because they have decided they can trust you. They still won't completely expose themselves to you, but you'll be closer than most. Although they will always reserve a share of their privacy, it will often feel that they are pealing away yours. If they love you, they will want to examine you and know you as completely as possible. This dynamic also serves to maintain a high level of control. The more they know about you and the more they keep private about themselves, the more control they have. This is not a completely conscious process. In the moon position, a sign operates in "auto" mode. Its motivations are felt as drives and are not given conscious choice, so the Scorpio maintains control without plotting to do so. The Scorpio moon is skilled at hiding it from others, and although, they will work through it enough to get on with their lives and not have others realize anything is wrong, they never forget. If the emotions involve another person, that person is forever branded in their mind as the one who caused them pain. Scorpio moons are able to forgive, but they have difficulty letting go and forgetting. Their controlling nature makes them stubborn, more stubborn than their polar opposite, Taurus. To maintain control, they have to be stubborn. It can be about anything at anytime. They will surprise you. You may think certain things are meaningless and unimportant, but the Scorpio moon will hold on to their desire, feeling or point of view like it's the last lifeboat on a sinking ship.
