A Cancer sun-sign person will strategize to obtain minor conveniences for themselves. They will think about what people are passing their way and can do an errand for them along the way. It's like life is a chess game and the people in their lives are the playing pieces. The sun in Cancer person always knows what pieces are in what position so they can use them all to their advantage. They can advance their career or improve their love life. They can't stop themselves from doing it. Even in what seems like a casual conversation, they will strategize. By asking questions to which they already know the answer, they back into conversations in order to get information or direct a course of action.

As a cardinal sign, they are controlling, but they always want to keep their ability to control hidden because they believe it's more powerful that way. It allows them time to plan, and suits their sensitive nature. They have time to feel things out and read people. This prevents head-on confrontations, which are abrasive to their sensitivities.

The Cancer moon has the same puppet-master mentality. They want to strategize and control from behind the scenes, but because the moon is inwardly tugging rather than outwardly reaching like the sun, they do it defensively rather than offensively. Therefore, it's less pervasive in their lives. It shows itself in close love relationships or family matters. You see it if their security is threatened or they think a person may cause them emotional pain. But the defensive nature of the Cancer moon makes it less obvious than when Cancer is the sun sign.
The silly, loopy sense of humor that Cancer is known for is seen in the Cancer sun-sign person more than in the Cancer moon sign. Cancer moon-sign people have a heavier aura that surrounds them because they feel things deeply. The moon rules Cancer, making the moon in Cancer a perfect match. The moon's receptive, feminine, security-based nature fits seamlessly with Cancer's cautious, self-protective manner. |

However, because they are both based in this same essence, they combine to emanate a more serious demeanor than the Cancer sun.
