How Personal, Relationship & Universal Signs Compare to Freud's Id, Ego & Superego...

There is a striking similarity between Freud's concept of the id, ego and superego and the astrological concepts of personal, relationship and universal signs. Keeping in mind that the zodiac is a symbolic  representation of a single human life-time, we can see the maturation process of the signs from id to ego, and finally to superego.
The Id relates to...
The Personal Signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini & Cancer

Freud describes the id as, guided by the pleasure principle which has a unique purpose - to get immediate satisfaction for all desires and needs.[1] The personal signs in astrology have this same orientation and focus. The personal signs are centered around interacting directly with the environment for the purpose of self-satisfaction. Astrologically symbolic of infancy and childhood, they represent the function of the id in psychology. People with a strong personal-sign influence in their chart have a natural tendency to put their needs and wants before their desire to please others or adhere to morals. Their first instinct is to deal with things directly rather than base their decisions on the opinions of other people or on societal standards. These signs are direct and don't concern themselves with the cordialities and protocols of the relationship and universal signs. Although the personal signs are the least mature signs in astrology and the most baseline and primal of Freud's triad of the human personality, they can be amazingly powerful people. In the charts of both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, we find Aries moons. The most immature sign in the most powerful zodiac position of the moon has given these two people the ability to push their agendas forward without undo concern for other people or greater worldly meanings that may have otherwise thwarted their progress.
The Ego relates to...
The Relationship Signs: Leo, Virgo, Libra & Scorpio

Freud describes the ego as, the component of personality that has the purpose to ensure that the impulses of the id can be expressed in an acceptable manner for the society we live in.[1] Like the relationship signs, the ego understands that we are not alone. Everything we do affects other people. We are all part of a society of people. We want to be able to function together in harmony. Therefore we need to gauge our behavior on how it will affect others. The relationship signs gauge their behavior on the reactions they receive from other people. They are the signs most concerned with human interactions. Rather than simply taking what they want from the world, they consider how their behavior will appear to others and modify their behavior based on the opinions of others. The relationship signs represent the teenage and young-adult phases of life when relationships are highlighted and often a focus. For these signs, self-esteem is largely based on their perceived likability. On a deeper level, it's based on their ability to successfully negotiate, compromise or control other people. The key factor is their need to serve their own needs through relationships.

The Super-Ego relates to...
The Universal Signs: Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius & Pisces

Freud describes the super-ego as, incorporating moral norms and values of the society we live in.[1] Akin to the universal signs, the super-ego bases behavior on greater morals and values. Like the universal signs, the superego isn't concerned with personal needs, or with pleasing other people. It is concerned with doing what is ultimately, the correct thing. The universal signs are astrologically symbolic of adulthood, retirement, old age and finally death. They have symbolically learned the lessons of youth, so rather than taking what they want from the world or allowing the dynamics of relationships to steer their behavior, they filter their behavior through greater ideals. It isn't always pleasant for them. It requires self-restraint, and they don't always manage to live up to their own self-imposed standards. It is the burden and blessing of the wisdom of old age. Having an awareness of greater rights and wrongs can help you live a righteous life. But, it can also make you judgmental of others and it can be a constant internal struggle. With a superego conscious always whispering in their ear, the universal signs try to do what's right, but they also suffer with a depressed feeling of pointlessness and self-condemnation when they don't.

Why Pisces Pull Away...

Like unborn souls floating in the dark waters of the womb, Pisces live in a world of the "in-between". Somewhere between life and death, Pisces are forever torn between reaching full awareness in the light of consciousness or regressing back to the comfort of the dark unconscious. They live in both worlds, endowing them with a wider, more creative perspective than any other sign, but burdening them with the chaos of never really being completely present in either. It's experienced by those who share their lives as a pulling-away quality.

Because they float endlessly between both words, they seem to come and go. It's an endless cycle of leaving one person or situation when anxiety or stress creates a wave that pushes them away and coming back when a trough of peacefulness creates a welcoming energy that entices them to return. It isn't done consciously and it isn't meant to hurt those they love. It's simply the state in which they exist. Each water sign experiences this dynamic on some level. Each is symbolic of the end of a period, and represents a death in preparation for new life. As the last personal sign, Cancer is symbolic of the death of a person's need to be self-serving in order to fully develop as an individual in preparation for living through relationships in the next set of relationship signs. As the last relationship sign, Scorpio represents the death of the ego itself in preparation for being a universal sign where we live as merely one part of the greater world.
As the last universal sign and the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces represents our actual death and exit from the living world in preparation for being reborn as a new individual person in the first sign, Aries. In this way, all water signs live in a constant defensive posture, fighting against what is ultimately a certain death. Cancer defends against losing its individual wants and needs. Scorpio defends against losing its ego, but Pisces defends against losing life itself.
No other sign represents a deeper or more confusing state of existence. The sign of Pisces is symbolic of the transition between life and death and it is best represented by the time spent in the mother's womb. In the womb, we are alive, yet not born. We exist, yet we are still being created. Hearing and sight are muffled. We rely on feeling. It's a completely different form of existence where there is no struggle between right and wrong or good and bad. It's a world of subtlety and nuance, of feeling and emotion. It's safe there and there's peace. It is a sort of limbo between the spiritual world and the living world. The Pisces symbol of the two fish swimming in opposite directions represents this vacillating energy, which goes back and forth between the two worlds.

Pisces know they are required to participate in the world of the living. Yet, they yearn to return to the safety of the unconscious spiritual world where there is no pain, no struggle, and no responsibility. Their lives are a never-ending search for peace. By never going too far in either direction or at least always visiting both worlds alternatively, they struggle to find peace. This ambivalent vacillation is frustrating to most people who must endure this odd behavior. Others see it as a constant tendency to pull away. They pull away from commitment, from relationships, from work or anything else that threatens to become too real. Like the rhythmic swing of a pendulum, the further they swing into reality, with all of its stress and problems, the further they swing back and escape into the unconscious world of their imagination, of dependency, dreams, drugs or delusions. It makes them seem flaky, spacey and irresponsible.
Therefore, Pisces has a unique position in the order of the zodiac. Their struggle isn't between two stages of development like Cancer and Scorpio. It's between life and death itself. So, whereas a Cancer goes back and forth between their needs and your needs, and a Scorpio goes back and forth between satisfying their ego or denying it. Pisces goes back and forth between the world of the real and living to the pseudo, death-like world of their unconscious imagination and dreams. With a spectrum of focus so broad, they seem to pull away as they vacillate between these two extremes. But, it's not meant to offend, and it's nothing personal. It's simply the world in which they live.

Your Rising Sign & Your Career....

Our natural guide to what's most interesting and satisfying in our life is found in our rising sign.

As children, we naturally follow its lead,
but as adults, we often lose faith in its wisdom.
As children, we naturally guide ourselves to the things that interest us and keep our attention. There's no decision process or contemplation about whether activities are worthy of taking up our time. Then, as we grow older, we are influenced by what we should spend our time doing or what things we should work on because they hold the promise of a good income in the future. That wonderful, natural guide we followed as children was our rising sign.
Our rising sign is the filter through which we see the world and represents our mode of interacting with and interpreting the world. On a second-to-second basis, it shows the things that get our attention and keep it! So, in this way, it shows what careers suit us and will make us happy and fulfilled.
Aries Rising... A career that allows you to exhibit your fighting spirit and your ability to remain brave in the face of danger will keep you interested and satisfied. It can be a career fighting real battles, such as, a military career, a career as a firefighter, or as a police officer. A career in sports would be fulfilling to you as well. You can also fulfill your fighting spirit in careers that offer the ability to face danger and win, but aren't so obviously dangerous. Many financial careers, such as, stock market careers or real estate ventures offer a risk that requires bravery and the ability to win in the face of financial danger. At the very least, you need a way to feel strong along with a constant stream of opportunities to feel like a winner. Even if it's only a constant stream of problems to solve, you will at least have plenty of chances to fight and win.

Taurus Rising... You prefer a slow pace to your day with a predictable routine. Peace of mind and comfort come before challenges or adventure even if it means making less money. It isn't that you are averse to the nature of challenges or adventures or that you don't like money. Rather, it is simply that your dominant desire is for peaceful comfort on a daily basis. You are perfectly willing to work hard and persist to achieve success, but your need for security and peace of mind inclines you to prefer a predictable income that doesn't involve the risk of loss. Working directly with tangible, rather than abstract, things satisfies you. You like to see real results. Anything that keeps you close to the earth is good for you. Working with food, or in construction are examples. With Taurus rising, you don't want to be rushed when working. You need time to absorb information and process it carefully because you don't like errors. A fast-paced job that focuses on quantity over quality will only frustrate and exhaust you. Your eye for quality and patient nature combine to make you well suited for any career that requires a dedicated, thorough person.

Gemini Rising... You need constant change and input. You are a problem solver and love to solve puzzles. Any type of investigative work or research suits you. It thrills you to know solutions and answers, so you love to work with facts. You are able to take various pieces of information from here and there, even over long periods of time, and put them together to solve problems or find answers. This skill makes you an excellent detective or investigative reporter. Any career in news or communications is also an excellent choice for you. Gemini can't help but immediately report any news to anyone who will listen. You love to be the person who has the information that everyone wants to know. What's more, you know how to deliver the news in a factual, and yet still interesting, way. This also makes you a natural writer because writing is another vehicle for communicating information. Anything that allows you to connect, people, places and information interests you. Anything involving the internet is perfect because it allows you to connect people with information all over the world.
Cancer Rising... A natural caretaker, you excel in any career that offers you a chance to care for another living being. You do well dealing directly with people. Person-to-person interactions are your forte. You have the patience and compassion to listen to people and the leadership ability to guide them. If you work in an office, you will excel at directing meetings with other office personnel or at working directly with customers. If you can give crucial care to people by working in any medical career in which you deal directly with people, you will feel great inner satisfaction. Not only do you get to show your concern for them, but you also get to heal them. Any type of therapy work satisfies you. You enjoy feeling needed and feeling like you are helping people. Even helping people, animals or the world at large through involvements with corporations that serve some basic needs keeps you happy and interested.

Leo Rising... Any career that allows you to shine as an individual is satisfying for you. Of course, any kind of performing or modeling is perfect for you because the focus in these careers is directly on you as an individual. However, there are plenty of careers that allow you to shine in a less obvious manner because the key is simply for you to feel successful as an individual. If you work as part of a team in a corporation, for example, you will be happy as long as you can make a unique contribution that is recognized as yours. Working as an entrepreneur is extremely satisfying for you because you always know it was you who earned your success. Whenever you can use your creative abilities, you are happy. Combine this with your need to express yourself, and you find that you excel at public speaking, teaching or creating art. You are jovial and good with people, which means you work well with others and can also lead them. Therefore, any career in a management position is suitable for you.
Virgo Rising... As a Virgo, you love to take something and make it better. Forever the critic, you do well in any career that gives you the opportunity to lend your opinion, advice and assistance. This generally puts you in a leadership position as a supervisor. Although you may drive your subordinates crazy with your attention to detail and your impatience for sloppiness, you are sure to do this job well. If you are not supervising, you do well working independently. This allows you to be as discerning as you need to be in order to satisfy your own sense of pride in your work without getting weighed down by other people. However, keep in mind that your need to take things and make them better does make you good at helping people. You just need to be patient with people, which you are capable of doing when you set your mind to it. Being a coach to someone who is trying to achieve a goal in any venture comes easily to you. Whether you are coaching a team, helping a person lose weight, guiding someone in building a business or even helping them in a creative work, you always give honest advice and tangible assistance.

Libra Rising... You know how to be charming. It's crazy not to use this to your advantage in a career! So any career that involves direct contact with people is great for you. You can use your charm to sell products or to make negotiations of any type. In sales, you know that in order to sell any produce, you must first win over the customer's faith in you as the sales person. This is no problem for you. Social protocol, etiquette and sheer charisma are all natural for you and you know how to use your talents in these areas to woo customers. Therefore, in addition to sales, you will find success in politics or marketing. People want to follow your lead because you are likable. You can use your charming likability to spin a political campaign or run an advertising campaign. Also, because you know how to present yourself in a manner that people find attractive, public speaking or the performing arts are likely to bring you success.

Scorpio Rising... You have the gift of focus. Scorpio's ability to concentrate attention on one thing at a time is surpassed by no other sign. Any career that requires deep attention and focus is perfect for the Scorpio rising person. Careers in research fields, where attention to solving one problem over a long period of time is required, suit you. Your ability to focus benefits you in any career that requires extreme dedication. You have the ability to stick to learning an instrument and succeed in music, or the ability to stick to long-term projects, such as, writing. Fields that require the patience to learn a wide array of details, such as, finance or law are suitable for you as well. Although you are good at reading people and figuring out their motives, you are not naturally charming and sociable. So, if your career involves people, you do well in investigative work or therapy work where the goal is not to win people over, but instead, to get answers from them to solve problems.
Sagittarius Rising... Nothing makes you more fulfilled than to be the one who sees the world more clearly than everyone else. You are skilled at seeing a situation from every angle including a seemingly omnipresent view that gives you the widest perspective possible. Along with this gift of God-like insight also comes an irrepressible need to share your knowledge with everyone. This makes you an excellent critic, teacher or even comedian. Any career that allows you to share your unique view of the world keeps your interest and satisfies you. Your skills are also useful in debating. In business, politics or law, you can always successfully argue your case or get your point across clearly. Words are your tool and you are able to use them more skillfully than any other sign to explain yourself or any point you believe is necessary to get across. When you aren't communicating, you excel in any field that requires an expansive, all-encompassing view. Large-scale projects of any type are right up your alley because you can think big and see far.

Capricorn Rising.... You love to be in charge, you desire prestige and you want real, monetary success. Yes, you are serious about making money. Fortunately, you have an excellent work ethic that eventually lands you in the profitable, prestigious, leadership positions you crave. For you, it's not so much the particular field you are in that's important. Rather, it's your position in that field and the potential for profit that matter. Even in childhood, you know that only you are responsible for your success. Waiting for adulthood to start working and earning money is frustrating. You are confident, hardworking, practical and a natural leader. People sense this about you and naturally follow your lead. You think long-term and are willing to pay your dues in order to achieve future success. A natural understanding of life's difficulties gives you perseverance. You want real results from your work. A good income and tangible results are necessary for you to feel fulfilled. A job fancy title, although satisfying, is not enough.

Aquarius Rising... An air of confidence surrounds you because you trust yourself and your judgement. In fact, you enjoy analyzing situations and making judgments of right and wrong. You are level and have great self-control. You strive to be as unbiased and impartial as possible, and for this reason, you make an excellent arbitrator. So, any career that involves conflict resolution is excellent for you. Your calm demeanor puts people at ease and your creative, yet also rational, reasoning abilities can find solutions to even the most difficult problems. Finding creative solutions to any problem is satisfying for you, and although you can work with people one-to-one, you especially enjoy solving societal problems. You believe that the world requires cooperation and that we all work together to achieve happiness. Any career that involves helping people on a large-scale is great for you. Working in a government agency, at a school, or any large private institution that serves the public provides stimulating work for you.

Pisces Rising... This is the absolute best rising position for dealing with people. Whether it's one-to-one interactions or dealing with groups of people, you excel. You size up individuals or groups within seconds and know exactly how to work them to get answers to questions, win their approval, or sell them a product. This makes you a master at sales. You can sell anything because you know how to pander to the personality of the customer. There's an open, flexible nature to the way you relate to people that makes them open up to you and trust you. Public speaking is another avenue for sure success along with performing. You see the world holistically because you notice everything at once. Your rising filter is so thin and free from preconceived notions that you see things for what they really are. This, combined with your personable nature, makes you a natural at anything that requires you to read people, or the public in general, and then give them what they want so that you can make a profit. This can range from being a comedian to being a marketing or public relations expert.

How your Astrological Moon Describes your Mother...

Because your astrological moon represents your internal, self-nurturing, self-support system that is first experienced through your relationship with your mother, your moon actually describes your mother.
There is a tangled web of emotion that develops between a mother and child throughout their lives. Your moon, by sign, position and aspect, not only describes this web but it actually describes your mother. To many, this sounds fatalistic. It sounds as though your moon can determine what kind of mother you have, which of course doesn't make sense. However, it is fate in its broadest sense.
The moon you are born with does not determine your mother's treatment of you and her behavior toward you. However, it does determine your reaction toward her and your treatment of her. Your reaction toward her is powerful and actually works to shape the person your mother is in your eyes and the person your mother is in the unique personal, relationship between you and her. Every reaction you have toward her behavior colors her future behavior and treatment of you. If you react well to certain behaviors she exhibits, she is likely to continue those behaviors. If you react with frustration, anger or sadness, she is likely to modify the behavior she exhibited that drew your negative reaction. So that although she may believe she is molding your behavior as the mother in the relationship, you are actually molding each other's behavior, thus creating a tangled web.
These reactions toward your mother's behaviors are largely determined by your moon sign. Because your moon represents your security needs, which are quite powerful especially in the formative childhood years, your moon colors your attitude toward your primary and immediate security provider, usually your mother. In these years of early childhood, your behavior is largely unconscious and controlled by your moon. It is powerful and lays the groundwork for your entire relationship with your mother before you even have a chance to consciously become aware of it.

The Moon in Aries Person & Their Mother...

Your relationship with your mother is never boring. She is strong, emotionally clear and direct. However, because of your intense moon in Aries desire to be a strong leader who charts your own course, your mother can also seem overbearing and willful. This is due to your constant need to push your own agenda forward, which naturally meets resistance from your mother who doesn't always agree with your plans. You see this resistance as willful and you believe it is only meant to sabotage your plans because you fail to realize that she only looking out for your safety and well being. So, you push her further. When she finally gets angry, you see her as antagonistic, selfish and belligerent. The more you push, the stronger she has to be to hold the line with you. As you get older, this cycle makes you see your mother as an assertive, strong willed woman who knows how to take care of herself.

The Moon in Taurus Person & Their Mother...

As a moon in Taurus person, you have high expectations of your mother's ability to provide for your practical, every-day needs. You expect her to be dependable and practical while making sure you have the necessities of life to remain comfortable. Life is meant to be savored and your mother is meant to provide the practical means for you to savor it. As you go through life, you ask her to provide you with a constant stream of things to make your life pleasurable and satisfying. If she is able to provide them easily, you see her as a sweet, reliable provider who is always there for you. If she isn't always to provide them, you see her as an overly practical person who is stubborn and too careful with money. However, because your nature is gentle and sensitive, yet persistent, you push her to her limit to make sure you can get what you want. Yet, you never push her hard enough to make her attitude toward you turn angry and sour. So, you generally see her as kind.

The Moon in Gemini Person & Their Mother...

Your light, detached, active and agile Gemini moon always keeps your mother on her feet. You are like a feather dancing in the wind and she can never quite catch you. She quickly realizes it is useless to try and gives you the freedom you always assume is normal in life.
Her reaction to and acceptance of your need to run free makes you see your mother as light and detached, but she is only reacting to your behavior. You are never going to accept a slow, restricted life. So, if your mother allows you space, you see it as a bit flighty or disconnected at times. If she fights you on this, your quick mind will likely find plenty of sharp and unfortunately often painfully precise verbal rebuttals. Her reaction to these rebuttals will make you believe she has the sharp tongue not you. However you do look to her as a source of information and as a teacher. You always know you can learn from her, and your inquisitive Gemini moon delights in her as a person with whom you can exercise your mind or sharpen your mental claws. Because she can always engage you in games, conversation or any kind of mental gymnastics, you come to see her as intelligent, someone with a sharp mind, or at the very least, someone who is always there to chat.

The Moon in Cancer Person & Their Mother...

You see your mother as someone who goes through a lot of emotionally exhausting times in her life. It's not that she's weak, but she is someone who lands in situations that constantly try her emotional strength. Your need for her motherly nurturing gives you a deep emotional connection with her. It's your need for her emotional attention that makes you focus on her and gives you insight into her emotional ups and downs. You are focused on her, and because she can't give you attention you need when she is in pain, you almost feel the pain with her. Your need for her love gives you a desire to see your mother as sensitive and caring. Then when she isn't, your reaction can be quite powerful. Even the hint of rejection from her sends you into emotional turmoil. The pain of her rejection, which may only be temporary, beyond her control or for your own good, will make you reflect your bad feelings back onto her because they are too painful to claim as your own. It has to be her fault, otherwise you just can't cope. Then suddenly she becomes the mean person who is purposely hurting you, when you are likely just blinded by your own pain. Your feelings for her are strong and you need her in your life, caring for you. She is a pillar for you and you rely on her, but you it doesn't just work one way. You are also always there for her.

The Moon in Leo Person & Their Mother...

A big presence, whether for the better or worse, describes your mother. She is expressive and doesn't hold back her true feelings. You always know where you stand with her because she tells you what's on her mind immediately. Your up-front approach in dealing with her makes this possible for her. You don't mind calling her out on any lies she tells you and you have no problem telling her to mind her own business or stop treating you like a child. This stems from the high sense of pride you have in yourself. It fuels your need to keep a balance of power in your relationship. So, when pressed, you aren't afraid to raise your voice to your mother and tell her how you feel about whatever she is saying or how she is dealing with you. However, your sense of pride in yourself also makes you self-conscious and it gives you a haunting desire to assure yourself that your mother likes you. You must constantly balance your need to maintain power with your need to be accepted and liked.

The Moon in Virgo Person & Their Mother...

Somehow even as a young child you are acutely aware of the give and take dynamic in relationships. Your sense of how much your mother does for you and how well she cares for your needs is acute. So, it's difficult for her to measure up to your expectations and it often seem she isn't meeting your needs. At these times, she seems flighty. It can be frustrating for you because she isn't always available when you need her. It can seem like a certain need for freedom seems to lead her away from you, and you often feel like you are more of adult than her. At the same time, her need for freedom gives you freedom, which you need even if you don't always realize it. Unconsciously you prefer your relationship to be exactly how it is. Your Virgo moon is critical by nature, so it's nearly impossible for anyone to measure to your standards especially someone as important as your mother. In your youth, she is the center of your world and because your focus is centered on her, your critical nature can't help but analyze her every action. Despite your acute sense of her shortcomings, you accept them as being part of a her.

The Moon in Libra Person & Their Mother...

Your mother has standards for your relationship that are clearly defined and understood. She has certain expectations that she always assumes you will fulfill, and you usually do. However, without realizing it, it's actually you who worked to define these rules in order to assure you are always treated fairly, kindly and to assure that your mother will always be there for you. Your expectations and reactions to your mother have served to set up a protocol in your relationship that keeps things peaceful between you. Over time, you each have come to understand your roles. You both know what behavior keeps things fair between you, and therefore, keeps the peace. Although your relationship can, at times, seem a bit formal and structured, it gives you comfort know that as long as you both follow the rules, you will both be happy. You are always careful to tactfully maintain a certain element of control in the relationship so that you can keep your mother close to you, but still make your own decisions, and you mother unconsciously understands that you do this.

The Moon in Scorpio Person & Their Mother...

Your mother sparks more emotion in you than she realizes. You know she cares about you intensely, but she can be too close to you when you need space and too distant when you need her close. From being overly concerned with things that you want to disregard, to becoming enmeshed in your life when you need emotional privacy, it often seems that she is out of tune with your emotional rhythm. But your passionate, and at the same time private, nature creates this very dynamic that ends up driving you crazy. Although you need her close for emotional reassurance and support, you also have a tremendous need for emotional privacy. It's difficult for her to accurately gauge your varying needs for closeness and distance. In trying to figure you out, she may probe you for feedback, which usually makes you clam up in silence. Your resistance can be frustrating and can spark an angry response from her, which makes you see her as aggressive and controlling. However, it's most likely you who is trying to maintain control, and she is the one reacting to you. So, depending on your reactions to her, you see her as a powerful ally in your life who is willing to do anything to protect you when you are wiling to trust her with your deepest emotions. However, when you aren't willing to open up and trust her, you see her as manipulative and controlling.

The Moon in Sagittarius Person & Their Mother...

You are difficult to contain and control, so your mother may have a difficult task at hand in raising you. You require freedom. It's not an option. If your mother isn't willing to give it you, your struggle to get it can exhaust her because you're will not give up until you get it. As a universal sign, you have an "above it all" attitude that makes you feel as though you are very mature and wise, no matter your age. The whole childhood thing can make you restless because you experience the world through the eyes of one of the older astrological signs. For this reason, you see your mother as less mature than she should be. Your moon in Sagittarius vantage point makes you critical of her, and her faults are obvious to you. The fact that you see them, makes her merely human in your view and you can't understand why you should be subject to her commands or requirements when you are both just two humans. From your perspective, she has just as much to learn as you. She is fallible and often immature. In your view, her need for freedom is just as strong as yours. You both deserve to enjoy it, not just her. She comes off as hypocritical because she holds you to standards that she can't live up to in her own life. What's more, her inability to see this makes her seem naive to you and makes you feel even more like you should be in charge of your life.

The Moon in Capricorn Person & Their Mother...

Some way or another, your mother always leaves you feeling vaguely guilty. She may not come right out and say things to make you feel guilty, but they may be subtly woven into her comments. Or in many cases, she just seems to have a very difficult life, and your joys are dimmed in comparison to her hardships. In either case, she controls you with guilt because your Capricorn moon can't help but empathize with any suffering she encounters. You know your mother always has a serious core to her regardless of her outer attitude. She always puts work before play and she never stops planning for the future. She is security oriented and very aware of the how the worst can always happen. You have a driving desire to help her and you always believe she does everything in her power to provide the best for you. On some level, you always feel like she could just make some changes in her life to make things easier for herself but it never happens. She recognizes your ability to act maturely and she often relies on you for practical and emotional support.

The Moon in Aquarius Person & Their Mother...

Your emotional maturity and strength is fully developed from such a young age that your mother's ability to help you grow and support you is almost unnecessary, making your relationship with her a bit distant and detached. You just don't seem to need the coddling that many other people enjoy as children. If anything, you notice that your mother could actually use some. However, you see this intellectually, not emotionally. So, you aren't one to cry with her, hold her closely and have deep emotional conversations. Rather, you simply don't burden her with your problems. You give her space to live her life and time to deal with her issues. It's almost odd when she reprimands you or treats you like a child. There's always a part of you that sees the whole thing as very silly and unnecessary. You know when you have done something you shouldn't have, and her attempts to guide you are nice, but not really helpful. However, it doesn't take very long for her to catch on to your level of maturity and treat you more as equal from a rather young age.

The Moon in Pisces Person & Their Mother...

Its seems that your mother is forever surmounting difficulties. An emotional strength that isn't always obvious pulls her through her life. The sacrifices she makes for you and your family are made out of necessity and she doesn't ask for thanks. However, they do draw her away from you. From a young age, you accept this and you grow up very quickly because of it. With all that she deals with, you know it would be wrong to burden her with too many of your problems. You are strong enough to help yourself with most things and she respects you for it. Yet at times, you can't help but feel like you would like to be more of a helpless child. Even though you are emotionally tough, you sometimes feel like you would like to be able to just rely on her instead of being the strong child she expects you to be. So often she seems to be lost in her own world, which consequently leaves you lost in your own world. You're not always sure she realizes this and so at times it feels like you are bit lost.

Below is our ranking of the signs
from MOST to LEAST difficult to actually BE..

#1 Pisces...Most Difficult

As the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces has a maturity and perspective that often feels like a burden. It is often said that Pisces is actually all of the signs put together rather than a real sign in its own right. They feel, experience, notice and process more than any other sign, which can feel overwhelming and make it difficult for them to define themselves. Pisces seem to live in a state of flux, floating somewhere in the in between. The symbol for Pisces is the two fish swimming in opposite directions which describes the unique dilemma of the sign. Pisces is torn between actually living here in the physical world on earth and a constant desire to escape into their imagination or the unconscious world of dreams and feelings, making being a Pisces here on earth difficult. Rules, schedules, deadlines and physical limits are frustrating for Pisces.
Through their vivid imaginations and sensitive feelings, they can truly grasp a glimpse of the beyond, of how it can feel to live without earthly restrictions. Their imagination is an almost physic connection with the collective unconscious that helps them feel on a universal level. They can conceptualize a world without rules and schedules. They yearn for this world like no other sign, which can make their earthly life feel unduly restrictive.

Pisces' Gift...A compassion for the human condition and a seemingly physic ability to sense pain gives Pisces the ability to help people like no other sign. Pisces have the ability to truly empathize, which can bring great peace to people. They have an emotional maturity that is patient, forgiving and caring. Their creative ability is limitless. They can create art with universal appeal because it draws from the collective unconscious of the universe.

#2 Capricorn...

Being ruled by Saturn, the planet of restriction and denial, Capricorn has a tough go of it. They assume that life is difficult and have a hard time focusing on the good things. Focusing on the negative is their normal way of thinking. Unlike most of the other signs who have no problem blaming the world or other people when they fail, Capricorns tend to blame themselves. Their realistic maturity in dealing with the hard facts of life makes it difficult for them to make excuses for themselves. It also makes them very responsible and they know that it would be silly and immature to run away from obligations. Being responsible and taking the blame when things go wrong are heavy burdens. What's more Capricorns are driven to constantly achieve. They are persistent and hard working, which doesn't give them a lot of room for fun and frivolity. Their security conscious nature is another difficulty. It's hard for them to reward themselves after they have made money or achieved because they want to constantly increase their security by saving money and continuing to work hard.

Capricorn's Gift...An ability to remain strong through hard times makes Capricorn a strong sign. This strength gives them confidence and people respect them for it. A real life common sense that can deal with the world in practical ways makes them rocks that other people can always rely on.

#3 Cancer...

A super-sensitive nature makes it difficult for Cancer to go very long without feeling hurt or offended. They tend to take things personally. Then, once they are offended, forgiving is extremely difficult for them. Cancers hold onto to pain for years, and they can still feel it like it was yesterday after years have gone by.
Their excellent memories don't help. They remember everything people do or say if it affected them in any way. Knowing how sensitive they are, they have a cautious, self-protective nature that makes it difficult for them to deal with things directly. They skirt around issues and try to come at things through the back door, which causes things to drag out and makes things more dramatic than they have to be. By not wanting to combat problems directly, they spend more time and effort dealing with things than the other signs. They miss out on opportunities because they are so cautious. Cancers sometimes take too long to make decisions before the opportunities are gone.

Cancer's Gift...Knowing personally how people can hurt other people so easily, Cancer has the ability to be truly kind and sensitive to the needs of other people. They make the best shoulders to cry on and the absolute best people to care for you when you are sick or in need of some motherly love. Their careful nature can bring them success in the world and they rarely make stupid mistakes.

#4 Scorpio...

Not as sensitive as Cancer, but second to them for sure, Scorpio feels deeply. What's worse, they have an extremely difficult time expressing or even admitting to emotional pain. They let it stew inside them and work it out on their own, which definitely takes longer than talking it out with someone. Scorpios are able to deal with a great deal of emotional pain, and they always get through it, but they don't forget it. Just like Cancers, they remember everything, but they are more likely than Cancer to retaliate. This can cause ruptures in relationships that never mend. When Scorpios let this become a habit, they end up alone. Their inability to forgive and forget causes them to end relationships. Scorpios would rather end a relationship than be a fool who lets someone hurt them twice. Knowing how they operate, they are careful about entering into relationships in the first place. They can actually make people uncomfortable with their probing questions and intense, direct eye contact that they use to gauge people. They are the most suspicious and distrustful sign, which protects them from pain but also causes them to miss out on relationships that could be enjoyable if they could just be more open, forgiving and trusting.

Scorpio's Gift...Once a Scorpio completes their due diligence and accepts you into their circle, they are the most loyal and faithful people in relationships. A Scorpio will never let you down if they are committed to you and you are true to them. Their cautious never nature keeps them from suffering from losses and can make them quite wealthy.

#5 Aries...

The confidence and courage of Aries constantly pushes them forward. They are decisive and don't waste time with worry and feelings of self-doubt. However, these same characteristics that get them so far are also what make being an Aries a bit difficult. Having patience with other people who slow them down with concerns that Aries consider petty and irrelevant is nearly impossible. Aries are leaders. They believe it is their job to get people moving and inspire people, which they do, but Aries are so sure of themselves that they often bulldoze people. When the people push back, Aries can't understand why. Frustration builds because they get blocked from their goals or desires and they have to deal with internal anger. They try to repress it, but it isn't easy. All of their energy and confidence needs expression. It's these times, when situations or people stifle them, that it is the most difficult to be in their shoes. The energy has to go somewhere. They can't always just swallow it, and when they can't, they can have some pretty furious outbursts. They always make themselves clear in the end, and to the amazement of many people, they were usually right in the first place because they are honest, upfront people. The struggle they have is with slowing down and having patience in dealing with obstacles.

Aries Gift...The most brave and daring of the all of the signs, Aries don't think twice about going after what they want. They inspire people with their courage and determination. It doesn't stop with themselves either. They happily defend those who are innocent and truly in need of their help.

#6 Gemini...

Boredom and lack of focus can make being a Gemini frustrating and cumbersome. Gemini's tendency toward boredom is impossible to fathom unless you are one of them. It's incredibly frustrating. It gets them into trouble because sometimes they end up getting into mischief just for the entertainment value. They need constant stimulation or they will literally develop physical tics. Shaking their legs, biting their finger nails, or even pulling out their hair are common habits for bored Geminis. They are so good at figuring things out that nothing keeps their interest for long. They get it and want to move on to something else. Geminis don't have a need to understand things deeply. It's not important to them, and of course, it gets boring. They end up knowing a lot about many things, but sometimes they would like to have the focus to learn one thing better. Gemini's lack of focus and problem with boredom also makes them detached in relationships. They have a habit of saying whatever they think, and then thinking about how it will make other people feel, oops!

Gemini's Gift...Gemini may actually be the toughest sign of the zodiac. They're quick, smart, and it's almost impossible to hurt their feelings. They can handle a lot of problems at the same time, quickly solving each one without getting carried away by emotion or drowning in self pity.

#7 Sagittarius...

How can the sign ruled by the most benevolent and lucky planet, Jupiter, be anything but the easiest sign to be? Well, that limitless good luck and free spirited, fun attitude has its flip side. Nothing good comes without bad. For Sagittarius, this bad side is a lack of self control. It isn't the worst of problems. After all, they are the seventh most difficult sign to be, but it can cause a great deal of difficulty. It is very difficulty for them to avoid pleasurable vices, and once they start one, their lack of self control makes it almost impossible for them to stop. Bad eating habits, drinking habits, smoking, the list goes on and on, but what's for sure is that once they start, they won't want to stop. It's a struggle for them and it can lead to physical and emotional pain. Their lack of self control is also seen in their relationships. Often, Sagittariuses don't know where to draw the line when it comes to getting their way. They push and push people until the other person has to push back so hard that the Sagittarius gets offended. Sagittarius' ability to think without boundaries often helps them go beyond others in terms of fun and achievement, but the rest of the world doesn't always agree, which at times, can make being a Sagittarius difficult.

Sagittarius' Gift...This sign knows how to have fun because they are always open to new ideas, adventures and conversations. They strive to always learn new things so they can understand and experience life fully.

#8 Virgo...

Virgos do pretty well in dealing with our earthly existence. They are particular about doing things correctly and taking their time with things, which gives them success in life. They are accepting of life's daily challenges and deal with them efficiently. However, there is an internal struggle constantly going on inside every Virgo.
They know right from wrong, but as a mutable sign, they have a tendency to let things get out of hand. It's hard for them to resist indulgences and pleasures. They know it's wrong and will actually say it out loud. They aren't in denial, but their mutable nature makes it difficult for them to set limits for themselves. When they do abide by limits and use self control, the frustration can drive them into criticizing and micromanaging people who don't. It's a way of venting their own frustration about doing what's right in their lives. This is a balancing act for them, and it can be difficult. If they let themselves free and don't worry about doing the right things and setting limits for themselves, they find it easier to get along with everyone and go about their way. If they restrict themselves, they find it hard not to nit pick other people.

Virgo's Gift...Virgos are truly the most helpful sign. They give honest advice and real, tangible help when people need it.

#9 Leo...

We are really getting into the easier signs with Leo. Leo's biggest struggle is with confidence. They ride a pendulum between overdoing it and coming on too strong in trying to impress people, all the way to just feeling to afraid of looking foolish or uncool to the point where they are so shy that they seem offish. They are generally happy people who see the best in people and in the world, but they have an intense need to be accepted at the very least and admired at the most. This makes Leos hyper aware of other people's reactions to them and they can get so hung up on how people react to them that they lose track of who they really are. Many Leos also suffer from the unfulfilled dream syndrome. They have so many ideas and dreams, but they have a hard time dealing with the practicalities of putting them into real form. It is frustrating and can leave them feeling unsatisfied with their level of accomplishment. Leos often look for people who can give them practical support while they explore their creativity.

Leo's Gift...This sign has the ability to be truly genuine and honest in their self-expression. The highest form of this is art.

#10 Libra...

Libra is the most upbeat and positive sign in the zodiac. Generally speaking, it's pretty easy to be a Libra. They always see the silver lining in any bad situation and it takes a lot to kill their spirit. Libra's biggest struggle is with fairness and reciprocation. They just can't tolerate people who don't do their part to make relationships, or the world for that matter, as equitable and pleasant as possible. Issues of fairness, and more globally, justice, can fester in their minds and drive them crazy until they have to act and do something to make a change. Then, it can be hard for them because they don't want to make too much of a fuss or cause too much of a disruption to a relationship. It's hard for them to get want they want and need out of relationships when they find it so difficult to tell people when they aren't doing their part. Libras find it so difficult to say things that might be offensive, even if they need to be said in order to fix the relationship. This frustrates them because they are leaders with a strong desire to push people in the right direction. Also, relationships are incredibly important to them, so they constantly walk the line between always treating people kindly and properly and being annoyed by how they get treated in return. This can be a real pickle for Libras because it's really hard to complain to people and get them to change their behavior without breaking Libra's own rules and being rude or unkind to people.

Libra's Gift...Libras understand the value of relationships and that you should treat other people the way you expect to be treated. They truly understand the dynamic of balance.

#11 Aquarius...

This is a pretty easy sign to be. These people are pretty content. Their biggest struggle is in dealing with emotions, feelings and displays of emotion. Aquarians find it very awkward to "go there" and get into the muck of emotion. When people get emotional with them, they lock up. They either don't respond or change the subject. They literally don't know what to say. They try harder than any sign to accept people for whom they are and not judge people. So when people get emotional, the Aquarians start calculating. They think about the morally correct solution to the person's emotional problems. Rather than consoling them and helping them work through it, they truly see it as a problem to be solved as quickly as possible so they can stop feeling awkward. Aquarians see most emotions as petty, selfish and immature. They have plenty of their own emotions, but shove them inside and try to banish them away. They try not to think about what's bothering them. It works pretty well, which is why they are rated as the second easiest sign to be.

Aquarius' Gift...The sign that spends the least amount of time dwelling on the painful, emotional parts of life, Aquarius has the gift of reason.

#12 Taurus...Easiest

Give a Taurus a comfortable couch, plenty of food and a computer or television and that's it. They're happy and content. Well, make sure it's good food and a good computer or television! But seriously, it really doesn't take much to satisfy a Taurus. They are naturally content, making them the easiest sign to be. Now, if they run out of money or resources to supply them with their physical comforts, they will become unhappy. This means they have to get up and work, but they are realistic. They'll do it, at least until they make enough to sit back down and relax! As the only fixed, earth sign of the zodiac, Taurus has the advantage of being naturally stable and practical. They have the exact kind of temperament that works best with our earthly existence. Good for you Taurus!

Taurus Gift...Really?? Isn't just being a Taurus enough of a gift?

The 8th House: Value, Control & Power in Relationships

Whoever has the most value in a relationship also has the most control and power, and in our most intimate relationships, we discover our real value. For better or worse, it all gets played out in the dark waters on the eighth house. The unspoken knowledge of why our partner needs us and why we need our partner infuses the waters of the eighth house with intense feeling. We don't like to talk about it, but it colors everything. It's an emotional understanding that acts as the basis for the whole relationship and it's never balanced. We always know who needs whom more, so we always know who's more valuable in the relationship. Whether or not the more valuable person uses the control and power their position imbues with maturity and respect determines the course of the relationship.
No matter how valuable a person is, if they use their value to take advantage of their mate, it will lead to anger, frustration, resentment and possibly violence. Unfortunately, many of us are afraid to directly address this dynamic or talk about it because, at its core, it translates into power, control and value which are distasteful topics in relationships which are supposed to be based only on love. But romantic love belongs to the fifth house and consideration and fairness belong to the seventh house. So we float along in our eighth houses feeling these deeply emotional issues and never really dealing with them because they're just too ugly. But in Scorpio's house, it's only a matter of time. The eighth house represents death and rebirth. The feelings eventually reach a breaking point or an emotional impasse and the death will begin. The dark, underside of the relationship will be exposed. Then it must be confronted.

Those who choose to deny it, either live with feelings in their gut that brood and eat at them because they are living in a never-ending state of dying. Or, they let the death complete itself by bringing everything out into the open. Then emotional arguments and intense confrontations about the reality of the value, power and control issues in the relationships can be worked through and heal the relationship giving it a symbolic rebirth. But if the relationship is over and really dead, Scorpio's eighth-house power is fully released and all hell really breaks loose. This eventually leads to a rebirth for both people, but during the transition, everything is powerfully put out in the open. Your value in the relationship is no longer unspoken. Now it's clearly defined in writing in a divorce agreement. It's argued about, not only between you are your ex, but between attorneys and other family members. The intense feelings in the eighth house are difficult and too often swept to the side, but they never go away. Not dealing with them makes the inevitable death and rebirth cycle more dramatic than it needs to be.

Aquarius & Self-Expression

The more intense the feeling, the more an Aquarius will hide it or deny it. Aquarians miss opportunities for intimacy because they just can't break out of their own walls and express their love for people. They go through years of avoiding people because they just can't have the argument that would release their feelings and clear up the situation. Aquarius is a mature sign that has enormous self-control and really doesn't feel as many of the trivial and immature emotions that many of us feel, but they do feel emotions. And when they do, it's often painful because they either feel immature and selfish expressing them or they simply can't release them.

The sign of Aquarius spurs some of the most talented artists and performers, so why is self-expression a battle for Aquarius? Creating art and performing are indirect expressions of the personality and emotion. Performers often go into character and pretend to be someone else. In creating art, a medium is used that serves as a buffer between the Aquarius person and the world.
Direct self-expression in the form of emotional displays or gut-wrenching, personal conversations are extremely difficult for Aquarians. Aquarians will tell you that these things feel unconformable and they aren't necessary. They will avoid sensitive emotional issues and conversations. But look deeper at your Aquarius mate or friend, and you may discover that they often feel trapped inside themselves. They may be glad they are never the fool in crowd who loses emotional self-control and embarrasses themselves, but they are also jealous of the people who can express emotions properly and enjoy the emotional release and intimacy with other people that they struggle to achieve. Many of them have feelings and emotional thoughts that are eating at them from the inside. It may be feelings of lust or love for another person. It may be anger, or it may be frustration. The next time you are with an Aquarius, remember that every once in a while their claims about not feeling anything just aren't true and they are really suffering inside.

Mutable Signs: Creativity & Low Threshold for Boredom

5/9/2014

Some of the most creative, intuitive and intriguing people are the mutable signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. They also have the most difficult time coping in our paradoxical world of competition, structure and routines. As mutable signs, they crave variety and spontaneity, but in order to be responsible adults, our world requires us to suppress these desires most of the day. We are taught that we need "remain on track". Few jobs lend themselves to the variety and spontaneity that mutable signs need. Most of us follow basically the same routine everyday and our jobs are rather monotonous. This can be torture for a person with a heavily mutable chart, especially a mutable moon sign. Mutable sign people need lives and jobs that allow them to be on the move and have constant change and flexibility.

Otherwise, boredom sets in, frustration builds, job performance falls and often self-defeating behavior begins as a source of escape. Addictions to substances like alcohol or vices like gambling or promiscuous sexual behavior can offer a diversion from the boredom, but it can become a downward spiral. The self-defeating behaviors get them into relationship problems, job problems or health problems and they lack the self control to stop it. They blame themselves and feel weak. Those mutable-sign people who are able to live flexible lives on their own schedules while exerting levels of motivation that suit their changing moods and situations are lucky. Mutable sign people are extremely creative, have unconventional intelligence, and detect nuances in the world that the other modalities miss, but when the world shoves them into a cubicle and a time schedule, they are crushed. It isn't natural for them and doesn't allow them to flourish and grow. They can't follow their own creative thought patterns and instead are distracted and bored. Although many are able to find their way through this structured world and manage let their creativity blossom, too many find themselves drowning in the muck of the world that others make for them and never discover their talents and gifts.

12th House & Ascendant: Prenatal Experience & Birth

Planets surrounding the ascendant and twelfth-house signs reaching the ascendant describe the situation leading to our birth and the birth itself:
The house of the unconscious, the metaphysical and the spiritual, the twelfth house is also the doorway to our birth. The prenatal experience in the womb as it leads to our birth is represented by the twelfth house, while the actual birth is represented by the ascendant. The prenatal and birth experiences remain in the unconscious and create the first marks on the canvas of our lives. They linger somewhere in the recesses of our minds creating a tone in our lives. The signs and planets in our twelfth house and on or near the ascendant reveal a great deal about our prenatal experience, the experiences of our mothers during their pregnancy and our birth. These experiences affect us then and throughout our lives. A natal chart packed with planets around the ascendant indicates that the mother's life was filled with activities and issues while pregnant and at our birth. While an empty twelfth house with no planets around the ascendant shows an uneventful pregnancy and mother a who was not bombarded with issues or difficulties.
Aries or Mars - A pregnancy with some conflict, arguing or emergencies is common with this placement. Either the mother or father may fight to terminate the pregnancy or keep the child. Difficulties with the birth are common. Surgery during the birth or after the birth on either the mother or child are common. The prenatal experience is stressful for the child and this placement is often found with premature births.

Taurus, Libra or Venus - A pleasant pregnancy where the mother is calm and relaxed is natural for this placement. The mother may indulge in excessive amounts of food and treat herself to relaxing activities and music. They may be issues regarding money and expenses along with an evaluation about a possible change in values for the family either during the pregnancy or when the child arrives. The prenatal experience is relaxing with the child and the birth may occur late or be induced because the mother does not go into labor on time.
Gemini, Virgo or Mercury - A mother who studies about pregnancy and child rearing is often found with this placement. She takes an intellectual view of the pregnancy and wants to make sure she does everything correctly. She carefully watches her weight gain, eats correctly and educates herself all of the possible problems with the birth. The prenatal experience is pleasant and stimulating. The birth goes as planned.

Cancer or the moon - The pregnancy and birth are highly emotional for the mother. Security issues with the mother's marriage or in the mother's life in general are often found, such as, the stability of the marriage or housing or money. A focus on the home is common, whether it's remodeling or moving. The mother may feel a vague sense of worry over caring for her new child.

Leo or the sun - The mother is proud during pregnancy and the pregnancy is inspiring to her. She feels the pregnancy fulfills her gives her meaning in life. There may be issues related to the heart of either the child or mother or blood pressure issues during the birth. The birth may be slightly early and is celebrated.

Scorpio or Pluto - Power or control struggles during the pregnancy are found with this placement. The unborn child can be the centerpiece of power plays between the mother and father or in-laws. Suspicions may run high during the pregnancy relating to any possible issue at hand. The mother is careful during the pregnancy and does not trust anyone. She is careful to maintain her resources for the coming birth so that she will not be in need when the baby arrives.

Sagittarius or Jupiter - Traveling while pregnant and giving birth in a foreign land or while traveling is common with this placement. Issues of freedom are central in the mother's pregnancy and there may be debate about staying with or separating from the father. Excessive eating is common or anything that the mother attaches to during the pregnancy can be done in excess.

Capricorn or Saturn - A mother who is overwhelmed with responsibilities during pregnancy or working very hard while pregnant. Her resources may be limited, and her life in general may be difficult during this time. The child may seem like a big responsibility. The birth may be difficult, lengthy or go over term. A surgery is often required, such as, a cesarean section birth.
Aquarius or Uranus - Debate over following convention or being different is found with this placement. This could be regarding the rules followed during pregnancy, the style of birth or the rules followed in the relationship between the mother and father. Sudden events, such as, separation of the parents, marriage of the parents or suddenly going into labor are common with this placement.

Pisces or Neptune - An unsure or confused feeling during pregnancy and birth is common with this placement. The mother may feel confused or unsure about motherhood or having another child. There may simply be unsettled issues in the mother's life that create a foggy cloud around the pregnancy and birth. The mother may feel like she is on shaky ground in her life and is unsure of how the new baby will fall into place. She may also feel slightly detached from the pregnancy.

Seventh House & Attraction

9/5/2013

Attraction is a major force in the seventh house.  Seventh-house people excel at attracting friends, business partners and mates.

In the seventh house, attraction is about knowing how to win another person's attention and interest by influencing them.

People with planets in the seventh-house of their natal chart, especially their sun or moon, will truly enjoy the art of attracting people.

It can come in many forms.  They may enjoy making many friends or dating many people.  Often these people are outright flirts who feel that every person is a conquest to be had.

Others enjoy performing and being attractive on stage.  Either way, the more people they can win over, the better.  Seventh-house people are skilled at being attractive and winning people over in any arena.  When they aren't busy using these skills in their personal life, they can put them use in the business world. They make excellent marketing or sales people.  They can grab a person's attention, earn their interest and then influence them into dating them, being their friend, or buying a product from their company.

Many seventh-house people are perpetual daters or marry several times.  They find it difficult to settle down with one person because they enjoy the hunt more than the conquest.  They have a constant need to attract new people.  This is also seen in friendships.  These are the seventh-house people who never have a free moment in their social calendars because they have attracted so many friends throughout their lives.  In business, you see these seventh-house people, not only in marketing or sales, but as negotiators or managers.  They can win others over with their charm and influence them into following their lead in business.

Pisces Sun, Pisces Rising - The Escape Artist

9/4/2013

Picture
The person with a Pisces sun sign and Pisces rising is one slippery sucker.  This person does not want to be contained.  Don't try to tie them down, they will wiggle their way out of it.

Try to put one of these people in a uniform, doing a repetitive job, working strict hours, indoors.  It won't last long.  If the job holds any importance to them, they may claim that they have recently developed some kind of vague illness that keeps them from working.  It will likely entail migraine headaches or some sort of foot or leg problem.  Or, if they really don't care about the job, they will just stop showing up.  Pisces, Pisces rising people belong in jobs with freedom of movement.  Being tied to a desk or station will torture them.  Outdoor jobs suit them better because they don't feel closed in.  A job at a beach where they can wear short and flip flops would be perfect.

The Pisces, Pisces rising person is kind, gentle and polite, but they know what they want.  They want freedom.  The problem is that they rarely just come out and admit it. Because they are so nice and they realize that they really have no right to any more freedom than anyone else, they would rather use excuses to get their freedom than demand it.  So, they feign illnesses and tell white lies or excuses to escape.  In fact, they are so good at it, they probably convince themselves they are being honest.  If anything, the headaches may be real because they tend to stay up late indulging in alcohol or some other pleasure they helps them escape reality.

If you directly confront them about their attempts to escape the confines of daily life, they won't tell you that they simply refuse to cooperate.  Instead, they will very nicely explain how they have some other obligation which will take up their day or, they will use their favorite excuse, that they just don't feel well.

Don't beat your head against the wall dealing with these people.  Give up while you are still sane.  Let them have their freedom.  They're going to get it anyway.  They always find a way to escape.  And if you refuse to let them, they will slip away from you just like they slip away from everything else.

Moon in the Eighth House

If the moon is found in the eighth house of a natal chart, the person is gifted in the art of relationships. These people can read others and pick up on their feelings. It is an area of interest for them. They may be interested in psychology, astrology or any field that probes the psyche. Eighth-house moon people not only want to find out what makes people tick, they are able to sense it.
Even if they are not emotional people, the act of relating to people is deeply emotional for them. Those with eighth-house moons are in tune with the vibes that people emit. It isn't a choice they make. It just happens, and it can be
exhausting. A trip to dinner with the extended family, where there is likely to be unspoken conflict, can be a real chore. Picking up on all the feelings and absorbing them deeply isn't always fun. Even if they try to intellectualize the feelings and toss them aside, they can never do this completely. The eighth house is a water house. It is about feelings, and the eighth house has the deepest waters. This causes many eighth-house moon people to take relationships seriously and choose them carefully.
But no matter how careful, eighth-house moon people are typically never without a partner. The eighth house is about the deepest part of relating to others and the moon is about our inner-most emotions and security needs. So an eighth-house moon's emotions and security needs are dependent on the relating to others on a deep level. They crave intimacy, and because they value it so much, they are generous in intimate relationships. The understanding of the give and take in relationships is deep-seated and they often make great sacrifices for their loved ones. The moon is caring and wants to give.
However, the moon also wants to be cared for, so they do expect care to be given back to them in return. This isn't an air sign kind of exchange though. It is deeply emotional rather than intellectual. The moon here doesn't keep score, it feels. If the feelings are right, the moon is happy.

Taurus Rising - The Protector

Taurus rising is looking after you whether you want them to or not.  They can't help it.  Constantly on the look out for any potential danger, Taurus rising people are the first to notice and alert you to any potential hazard. Your Taurus rising friend will be the one who gives you polite suggestions on improving the safety of your home or reminds you to wear to your seatbelt.

Their calm, relaxed exterior is hiding a vigilantly-aware, inner nature.  Although they sometimes seem to just plod along (they tend to walk slowly) without a care in the world, they will be first notice the child who is walking too close to the water's edge or even the drink that is about to get knocked over and spill onto the new carpet. This is why Taurus rising people make excellent caregivers.  It's in their nature.  If there are children around, the Taurus rising person will look after them.  It doesn't matter whose children they are or what the setting is.  They will anticipate any child's next move and scan the surrounding for any possible danger.

Taurus rising people really are great to have around, especially if you are one of the more mindless types.  They will happily help you out without criticism.  Their polite and kind nature can be a blessing to all.  Going on an outing to the beach?  Taurus rising will make sure they pack enough sunblock for everyone.  They will remember the towels, snacks and water so no one gets dehydrated.

More than a Taurus sun or moon, Taurus rising exhibits the best qualities of the sign.  Somehow the negatives of Taurus that show themselves when the sign is in the sun or moon position don't appear with Taurus rising.  There are no long rants about politics or whatever the issue of the day may be.  And that stubborn Taurus nature which can be a bit annoying to some, doesn't show itself so much when Taurus is rising.  Instead, Taurus rising delivers a dependable, caring and cautious personality who can really help out in this sometimes chaotic world.

Capricorn's Rebellion

The hard-working, responsible Capricorn who is always looking out for their family has a powerfully rebellious nature. It may be that the stress of all of that responsibility becomes too much at times and they need to break free and rebel. Or, it may be that they are so responsible that they just can't stand to have anyone tell them what to do. They know exactly what needs to be done and how to do it. Capricorns don't need anyone telling them. It's probably a little of both. Capricorns have big egos and strong personalities. Combine this with the fact that they are extremely responsible and you get a person who is really likely to tell you to f**k off if you try to push them around. Yes, Capricorns curse often and can be crude with their expressions and stories. They speak from their gut and say what they mean. You won't get any sugar-coated messages delivered in a sweet voice from a Capricorn.
You'll get direct commands. They are blunt, to the point and see things clearly. However, they do tend to put a negative spin on things which may be another source of their rebellion. They are harsh critics of themselves, you and life. With all of that critical, negativity brewing in their minds, even Capricorn wants to bust out and break free. Capricorn sees the world as a difficult place, so naturally they would like to escape it. They have this in common with Pisces' need to escape, but Capricorn does it with rebellion. Rather than slink away into oblivion like a Pisces, Capricorn will revel in making a big point about it. For Capricorn, it's the point. Don't tell them what to do!

Moon in the Sixth House and Food

This isn't the same control need that we find with Scorpio, who needs to control other people.  This is a private need for control over themselves and their own eating habits.

Control is a sixth house theme, but because it is their moon found here, these people are also looking for emotional comfort from their sixth house.  Food can definitely satisfy this need.  I have seen this need run the full gamut from people who study nutrition and eat only foods that they have learned to be the absolute best, to people who couldn't care less about nutrition, but they will only eat food that tastes delicious.  Delicious, unhealthy food does a great job of satisfying their moon.  But healthy food can also satisfy their moon's need for emotional comfort by giving them the secure feeling of having cared for their bodies.   Healthy or unhealthy, as long as they can eat what they want, the way they want to eat it, they are satisfied.

CapricornĀ Has TooĀ MuchĀ Work

8/28/2013

Picture
We've all had a Capricorn sun, moon or ascendant person who we've heard complain day after day about how much work they have...

No one does any work except them!  They have had to work so hard all of their lives!

There are many more of these typical Capricorn complaints about work.  Do they really work harder than the rest of us, or do they just complain about it more?  We really can't be sure, but we do know that they talk about it too much!  The worst offender is probably the Capricorn moon.  The suns and risings do it too, but the moons are the worst.  The moon represents your inner feelings and drives.  As a Capricorn moon, your feelings are ruled by the task master of the zodiac, Saturn.  So you are at least going to feel like you work harder than anyone else.  The pressure is real.  The pressure to succeed, to achieve and to accomplish your daily tasks in going to weigh on you minute by minute.  A good way to vent the pressure is to talk about it.

All Capricorns are acutely aware of what work needs to be done.  Beware if you are responsible for any of that work.  They will not let you forget it.  If you don't do it, they will cover your ass and make sure it gets done, but they will remind about how you didn't do your part for the next month, at least!  They will also resent you.  They really can't stand people who don't pull their weight because they just can't help themselves from always pulling theirs.

This intense sense of responsibility for work often leads to depression in Capricorns, again, especially the Capricorn moons.  They have to be responsible about work, but they honestly don't want to be.  They would love to run free and not care about any of it.  But, because they can't bring themselves to do this, they resent those who can. The resentment can drive them away from people and leave them alone and depressed just thinking about all of the work they have to do and how no one else cares.  It's a sad scenario.

Luckily, many Capricorns manage to have a sense of humor about it.  Because Capricorns eventually realize that real complaining just drives people away, they learn to put a humorously, dry and sarcastic spin on their complaints as they mow through their day.  This is great self-therapy for them and helps to keep them sane.  So the next time you're around a Capricorn and hear them complain about working too much, even if it's funny, remember that they really do mean it.  Offer to give them a hand, and don't worry.  They're so responsible that nine times out of ten, they won't even take your help.  But they will definitely appreciate the offer.

Gemini RisingĀ is not the same asĀ Mercury on the Ascendant

8/27/2013

Picture
Although they are similar, Gemini Rising is not the same as Mercury on the ascendant.  A planet on the ascendant is more concerned with self expression and a rising sign is more concerned with interpreting and reacting to what is encountered in the world.  Consequently, a planet on the ascendant is more noticeable to others than a rising sign.

A person who has Mercury on the ascendant is like a machine you can't turn off.  They will talk incessantly.  They are obsessed with expressing themselves.  Mercury on the ascendant, especially if it is on the twelfth house side, will cause a person to talk about anything that enters their mind.  It seems like a constant flow of thoughts that just pour out of their mouths.  I'm sure they do have some sort of filter.  They can't possibly say everything that crosses their minds, but for the listener, it certainly seems like they do.  These people speak as though they are their own audience.  What the listener thinks is less important than their need to put their thoughts into words.  At their worst, they actually talk to themselves, at their best, they phrase things as though they don't even know the listener.  They will refer to people in the same room using the third person.  It's as though the power of speech overcomes them and they forget that they are speaking for the listener rather than themselves.  Because they are voicing virtually every though they have, they also you the word "I" quite often.  This makes sense right?  If you are verbally expressing most of the your thoughts and feelings, the word "I" would have to be used a lot.  This is the power of the actual planet of Mercury on the ascendant as opposed to simply having Gemini rising.

A planet on the ascendant is more expressive and the rising sign is more receptive.  Gemini rising has a different effect.  Gemini rising doesn't feel the need to express so much of themselves verbally.  Yes, they can be talkers, but they have more restraint.  They don't say everything they think. Gemini rising shows itself more by processing what it encounters in the world rather than verbally expressing everything it thinks to the world.  Gemini rising looks at the world and wants to analyze and pick things apart.  They want to move from thing to thing and they have a low threshold for boredom.  Gemini rising figures things out and is critical of what it encounters.  Problems are solved by looking at facts and finding concrete answers.

In the end, planets are just more powerful than signs. Mercury on the ascendant is more powerful of an influence than Gemini rising.  So, the need for verbal expression may be more obvious.

Also consider that if you have Mercury on the ascendant, you also have a rising sign there with it.  So there is always a combined effect of Mercury on the ascendant with whatever rising sign you have.  Some rising signs, like Pisces or Sagittarius can really give Mercury a boost.  Whereas, with a sign like Capricorn rising, it will be squashed a bit.  On the other hand, you can have Gemini rising without any planet contaminating it on the ascendant.  This makes a difference because Mercury on the ascendant is never pure like Gemini rising can be.  It is always combined with a rising sign.  So even though Mercury on the ascendant is more powerful than Gemini rising, you always have to factor in the rising sign with it.
